It became clear to me that there are 3 mistakes that personal trainers fall-for when it comes to building their personal training website.

They typically,

1. Spend too much money for a website,
2. Don’t think how to get traffic (visitors) to their website and,
3. Purchase a website that is difficult to modify themselves.

When I started talking to personal trainer’s about their websites the horror stories started pouring out…

I had friends telling me they had spent thousands of dollars (one of my friends even spent $15,000!) on a website just to find out people could not find it in Google. This meant it was useless in getting more clients. (I’ll show you how to get one for a fraction of the price the others are paying further below…)

They told me they had no clue if anyone actually visited their website and if any new clients brought their services because of their website. I showed them how they can see exactly how many visitors they get a day and how to have those visitors sign up for their services right there on their website.

One of the biggest complaints I found personal trainers had was that it was too hard to change or update their own website without paying their web guy to do it.

I had to design a system that could solve all these problems in one swoop.

So here’s what I did…

I systematized my website formula into the best online jump start for Personal Trainer’s.

Introducing The Personal Trainers ‘Hulk Website Package’

The ultimate 1 , 2 punch for dominating the personal training market and getting a flood of new customers into your Personal Training business or Bootcamp.

I know this package works so well because I myself come from a Personal Training background. I can relate to personal trainers needs and know what works when it comes to using a website to generate new customers for a personal training business.

Here’s what you get with my Hulk Website Formula Package:

BUILT IN SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION. There is no point having a website if people searching for your service online cant find you.

A WEBSITE SYSTEM With a perfect website layout that is user friendly while being structured to rank high in the search engines as fast as possible. (This means your site wont be an abandoned island, people will actually be visiting it)

SEO - Your website will be loaded with the latest SEO plugins to boost your search engine visibility and get more people to visit your website. (You don’t have to have technical knowledge its just plug-and-play)

GUIDANCE. You will be shown the super simple system of updating and changing anything on your site with ease and well practically guide you by the hand through the entire process (Don’t ever pay to change something, you’ll be able to do it yourself: what you want, when you want)

INSTRUCTION- We will show you EXACTLY how to start ranking for any keyword you want (you wont be one of the countless people wasting their time trying to figure out how to perform better in the search engines (and it doesn’t cost any money!)

SUPPORT- We will give you continued support should you need it. Our success relies on your success so we will do everything in our power to make sure you have what you need (We will not stick your website up and forget about you, we are constantly looking for ways to better serve you and bring you new improvements)

PROFESSIONAL AND UNIQUE CUSTOM LOOK Not a website by template. Your website will reflect you and your service (It will be unique and exciting and will encapsulate what it is like to train with you)

You will..

Own a website with good ranking in Google (This alone is worth at least 10 times the cost of the website)

Get more clients – In fact, you may pull so many clients that you start to choose only the ones you want to work with.

Retain more clients and build lasting relationships- Don’t forget there is more to business than getting clients, you must retain your good clients too. And remember it is easier (and cheaper) to retain a good client than find a new client from scratch..

I will show you how you can skip all the b.s. that’s out there and build a solid business with its very own fan base willing to pay you money.

It’s no joke when I tell you I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars traveling around the globe and investing in marketing and coaching seminars and programs, reading books and studying business systems so I could present the information I am sharing with you today. The very same information other six-figure trainers don’t want you to know.

I’m willing to make an impact on the health and fitness world and if i have your support, I’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish this. I show you more in this video…

My Mentor Revealed To Me 6 Facts Your Web Guy Never Tells You…

You see, when you build your personal training website you have to realise your web design guy is…

Fact # 1 – More interested in Design, Layout, Flashy bells-and-whistles and ‘coolness’ factors (ever wondered why these types of guys have ‘Portfolios’ rather than Testimonials…?)

Fact # 2 –Not interested in personal training or your personal training business. He is not interested in getting more clients for your business and…

Fact # 3 – Their job is to design a personal training website for you, not to get people to go to your website and sign up for your services – he sees that as your job.

Can you see the problem here?

If you have fallen for the Personal Trainers ‘Hollow Dream’ you most certainly have a flashy looking website but you lack traffic, that is real people visiting your personal training website. Without anyone to visit your website how is it ever going to bring in NEW clients and extra revenue for you?!

Your web guy will sit there and try and impress you with all the swish-looking websites he has designed for his clients, but ask him if he has any customer testimonials…

Better yet, see if those testimonials actually report that the client got more customers and made money BECAUSE of the website, rather than just praising the designer for a professional or good looking website.

Your web guy might ask you questions about your business to get a ‘feel’ for what you want your personal training website to look like, but again, this is just so he can tailor the look of the website to you and make the design look good. This has nothing to do with getting people to your website or actually converting them into paying clients. Ask him if he’ll use an autoresponder to capture visitors contact details… ask if he’ll help you set up an autoresponder series to brand you and your personal training services as the best in your area. My guess is he won’t even know what an autoresponder is… (sigh).

Ask your web guy what he is going to do to guarantee you actually get new client as a result of building your personal training website and his response will probably be;

“I just build your website, you’ve got to sell your services”

HANG ON A MINUTE!!! Didn’t he just sell me a website so I can get more clients?!? and now he’s saying I’m the one who’s got to get those clients?! So what is it exactly that he is doing? – He is selling the Hollow Dream… BUSTED!!!

Don’t fall for it.

Without people to visit your website your site is just an abandoned island that no-one knows about.

You can have your web guy to do some traffic generation and some search engine optimization but this can easily cost you hundreds of dollars each and every month!

To make things worse, your web guy can only control on-page optimization and he will never tell you Google only cares about off-page optimization!

Your web design guy is making his job of designing a personal training website that attracts more clients sound hopeless if he tells you these facts…

Fact # 4 – Google does not care about your meta tags anymore. While they can help you ‘get-the-click’, once a person sees your website in the search engines. Search Engines rank off-page SEO more than on-page SEO.

Fact # 5 – People will not remember your business name when it comes to TYPING it into Google, so you must rank for many different keywords related to your SERVICE (There are thousands more people searching for the service you provide compared to your actual business name).

Fact # 6 – Most people will click away from a personal training website within 7 seconds if it looks messy or doesn’t seem to promise to deliver what they are searching for. (Your dead in the water if you can’t convey your message in 7 seconds).

So when I paid for my personal training website to be built I was forking out my hard earned cash for little more than a glorified business card. It had no weight in the search engine rankings (My sister could only find it by typing in my exact business name, what use is that to a new customer?!). It was little use in getting me new clients.

I’m sick of forking out my hard earned money for nothing in return! And I’m sick of hearing people like you paying for rubish websites too. I want to show you how you can have it all for a fraction of the price in the video below…

I Had Been Sold The Dream That A Website Would Do The Marketing For Me

… that throwing up a website would mean I could just sit back and watch the clients roll in. You would not believe how crushed I was when I found out this was just a ‘Hollow Dream’.

Most Web design services are capitalizing in the current market by supporting this ‘Hollow Dream’

Web designers are good at just that; designing a website. They are not skilled at getting more clients for your business or converting the people who visit your website into customers. Im not saying they are bad people, I’m just saying we have false hopes that their services will be the end of all our marketing worries.

Don’t believe me? Take a look at the 3 facts your webdesign guy will never tell you.

I typically come across lots of websites (that personal trainer’s pay good money for) that all seem to have a few things in common.

They have;

A home page introducing either themselves or their services (rather than relating to the visitor straight away and forming a bond)

Some information on why hiring a personal trainer is a good idea and they typically ‘pimp’ THEIR services (they talk themselves up rather than identify the specific benedits to the visitor)

In order to get further information they have an e-mail address or a mobile number (this leaves the visitor to decide, on the spot, to either pick up the phone and call or press the little x at the top of the website and leave forever)

I also see a lot of PT’s try to appeal to everyone, they say “Hey! We cater to everyone, if you just want to get fit or if you are an athlete, we’re better than everyone else. We specialize in women’s fitness and competitive hockey players too!” (If you absolutely had to lose weight for your wedding in 12 weeks would you go see a jack-of-all-trades of a personal trainer who specializes in getting people into shape for their wedding?) Just the same as if you wanted to learn the waltz for your wedding you wouldn’t sign up for 12 weeks of rumba, cha-cha, quickstep and jive, you’d get private lessons on the waltz.

Everyone is doing the same thing. The result is everyone has this really generic, watered-down marketing message.

It’s so competitive out there and as more fitness professionals are graduating and coming into the business, you have to separate yourself from the competition. You have to be unique, you have to have something that separates you. This is called your Unique Selling Position or USP.

If a new up and comer has a strong USP and you don’t, I don’t care how long you’ve been in the business, they’re going to eat your lunch.

You need to identify your unique selling position. Your USP can be focused on your service, your results or your niche. Then mention your USP in all your marketing messages and all your advertising and promotional messages.

Big Tip #1

Identify your USP. It is what makes you DIFFERENT and what makes you BETTER

This new era of social media marketing is making an impact on how business is done. People no longer just listen to what YOU have to say about your business, (like the web-design guys would have you believe) people are now asking what OTHERS have to say about you BEFORE they decide whether to believe you or not.

Customers interact, talk back and forth with one another and share stories before spending any money with you. This is social interaction… You need to mold your business around social interaction and take advantage of social media marketing.

If this is getting a little overbearing here’s the definition of social media:

Social media are primarily Internet-based tools for sharing and discussing information among human beings. The term most often refers to activities that integrate technology, social interaction and the construction of words, pictures, video and audio. This interaction and the manner in which information is presented, depends on the varied perspectives and ‘building’ of shared meaning among communities, as people share their stories and experiences.

Social media can take many different forms and you have probably used most. Some include; Internet forums, blogs, podcasts, pictures and video email and instant messaging VOIP and applications like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Google Groups and Wikipedia.

This type of media marketing helps people share stories and experiences of YOUR services with other people and helps them develop a strong loyalty to your business. If you build your brand and use YOUR story you will build a loyal fan base.

And one of the greatest aspects of social media is that people will be out there promoting you and your services – just spreading the word – Thats real word of mouth marketing.

Oh… Another Big Tip! Be YOU and tell personal stories about you and your clients and success stories...

Tell personal stories about you and your clients and success stories in your e-mails, newsletters and on your website. These days every company is trying to sound the same, its so sterile. People want to know there is a face behind your business.

So where does this lead us?

Do Not fall for the ‘Hollow Dream’. A website will not magically start bringing you customers just because you build one, you must leverage the social aspect of your business. Personal training by its very nature is a social interaction in itself, it lends itself to this sort of marketing, not the old school ‘pushy’ marketing like handing out flyer’s and creating advertising selling the latest weight loss miracle. We are moving towards a ‘pull’ society where others can get un-biased information from other people before they decide to buy your services. Just make sure when they do decide to buy, that you are the name in the front of their minds… I show you how in the video below…

Its no good having a personal training website if nobody can find it on the first page of Google…

The truth is only a very small percentage of web users click past the first 3 or 4 websites that show up in an online search. Check out this picture of a search engine eye-gaze heat map. It shows that 85% of people will click on the first 3 organic results.

The visitors interest rapidly declines as you go down the list. Thus, you MUST strive to get your personal training website ranked on top of the first page of Google.

The reality for most personal training website’s…

The sad reality is less than 1percent of fitness professionals know what it truly takes to rank on the first page of Google, many personal trainers are left with a website that is buried deep under 4 or 5 pages in the search engines, never to be seen.

Let me reveal a few secrets to getting better rankings for your personal training website.

First off, I still grit my teeth when a fellow personal trainer tells me “yeah my website is number one in Google, just type in my company name, xyz training”. While it is very likely your website will pop up number one if you type in the name of your company (or the name of your website – geez!), your potential clients will NOT be typing in your company name, they don’t know your company name yet! What they will be typing in is words related to what you have to offer, not what you called your company. For example they will type in ‘personal trainer’ or ‘outdoor personal trainer’ or ‘personal training for women’. Type those words in a search engine, the words your prospective clients will use, and I bet you don’t show up any where near the first page (if at all!). So the first thing you need to do is start ranking for those types of terms. I’ll tell you how in a minute.

That brings me to my next point: “How do people find you in the search engines?”

Think of your personal training business just like any other business… if you were looking for a hardware store what would you type into Google? Probably ‘hardware store’, or if you were looking for equipment for your kitchen renovation you might get more specific and type in “DIY kitchen renovations’ or ‘kitchen cabinets’. And if you were really serious about finding some kitchen cabinets to buy now you would probably type in ‘kitchen cabinets [location]‘ with location being the city where you live, so you may find the closest place to you where you can go and buy new kitchen cabinets. Now what most people do when they put up a website is they focus on their NAME rather than WHAT the customer is searching for. So in this example it would be Dean focusing on his business called Dean’s Cabinets rather than ‘kitchen cabinets [location]‘, no-one is going to actually type in Dean’s Cabinets just like no-one will type in Tom’s Personal Training. But if Tom lived in Beakonsfield and his website ranked for ‘Personal training in Beakonsfield’ then he has a very high chance of ranking on the first page of Google.

So the key here is to FIRST identify the keywords your potential customers will be using to search for your service.

OK, so how do you start ranking for these keywords…? There are many different components to address which help how well your personal training website ranks in the search engines. Including and not limited to:

Website design and layout: Many websites have poor design that is not search engine friendly. Get this right at the beginning and you wont have to spend hours down the road fixing every page on your website to be search engine friendly. Not all web designers understand this, their main focus is on creating a ‘nice-looking’ website.

Website Search Engine Optimization (SEO): There are a few on-page optimizations you can make (today they have less pull in the search engines but never the less worth getting right) like H1 tags, META tags, page titles and descriptions. Since they are not as important in the eyes of the search engines as they once were you want to automate as much of this type of SEO as possible. With the help of some other marketing and off-page SEO tactics I’m about to show you you can make a huge leap in the search engines (Search Engines love off-page SEO – thats what ‘other people’ are saying about your website).

Fresh Content: Is your website a static website or even worse, a single page website? The search engines love new, fresh content. You can rocket up the rankings just by adding new content to your website on a consistent basis (hint: ever heard of a blog? – its so easy).

But wait…

Before we get too bogged down in the technical aspects of website design let’s not forget the main reason to have a personal training website in the first place…to attract new clients and make more money.

Its as simple as that.

If your current website does not do this for you then you need to seriously think about changing your website around a bit. If you don’t currently have a website you can get all the secrets on how to set one up the right way the first time here with the best Personal Training Website.

Are You Looking For a Free Personal Trainer Website?

If you’re looking for a cost-effective way to market your personal training business having a personal training website can expand the reach of your advertising dramatically.

Free websites or the free space provided to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), may seem like a good, cheap option when starting out but I want to warn you about the hours of frustration and aggravation I have had with both.

Whats Wrong With A Free Personal Trainer Website?

You see free personal trainer websites lack 2 very important things: Control and credibility.

With free personal trainer websites you have limited control over your site design and this will impact your business on many levels.

Firstly, your personal training websites design is the first thing your prospective customers sees and thus plays an important role in influencing that persons decision making. The look and feel of your website is your very first opportunity to start your branding message. Branding is about your individuality and your unique offer or unique service. It includes your company colors, the words you use and your pictures, the overall ‘feel’ of your website and the way this all combines to influence the way customers think of you.

If your website looks similar to the cookie cutter websites that the free personal trainer website services produce, or if it lacks any creative design or individuality, how do you think that will impact on your prospective client? It’s going to look bad.

At one end of the spectrum your website could potentially look very unprofessional and unorganized. While you may have had the best intentions in mind when you posted a stock photo of some people working out and a bunch of links to all your personal training services on your site, the reality is someone else may mistake your site for a spammy website with a stereotypical photo of models working out and a bunch of links that they are never going to click because they don’t really understand if you are a personal trainer, a gym, a phys ed teacher or just a re-hashed article site. This is an example of a website a friend of mine owned a while ago. He was very surprised when I showed him how easy it was to turn this around.

On the other hand free personal trainer website design software typically produces websites that are built from a template. There may be many templates to choose from but once you count the ones that would be applicable for personal training there is usually not much difference between the options. What will inspire your potential client to contact you if you look like every other run-of-the-mill personal trainer out there. You’re missing out on a big opportunity to stand out from the crowd by addressing this small factor.

Lack of control over free personal trainer websites also limits the functionality of your website and its applicability to your expertise and market. For example say you train a group of people or are involved in a sporting club, how powerful would it be for those people to interact on your site to either post up coming events on a notice board or to ask if anyone can give them a lift to training… with a free site you just cant have those sort of things and it is these things that make a successful and fully functioning website as apposed to a glorified online business card.

Free personal trainer websites also limit your control over how your site is named. They typically place the ISP or company name in the URL before the name of your business. How does that look to prospective clients? Unprofessional!

Let me show you an example of this,

What looks better…?

www.domains-for-free.com/~runnersworld.php?=342

or

www.runnersworld.com

The first one looks very unprofessional…

The first one is going to cause apprehension with dealing with your company while the second one is going to boost your credibility to a potential customer and help convince them that you are the best option to turn to. It looks more ‘real’ and just stands head and shoulders above the free domain.

I highly advise you to invest in your own domain name and hosting. Here is some information on the best way to build a website for a personal trainer.

However, if you really have nothing to invest in your personal training business I can show you a way to get in Google without a website. This is free and easy all you need is 5 minutes of your time… Google for Personal Trainers. This is 100x more powerful than any free personal trainer website.

Do You Have a Personal Trainer Website?

The Number One Reason Why Your Current Marketing Is Failing Your Personal Training Business

And How To Capitilize On The Biggest Market Trend To Date
And Fill Your Bootcamps Or Personal Training Diary FULL!

When it comes to marketing I think I can say I’ve done it all.

Small business workshops (nothing but account keeping and lots of policies and procedures), commerce meetings (mixers of vendors only interested in selling their memberships to you), Yellow Pages, Flyer’s and DL Leaflets, email promotions, the list goes on.

I’ve frantically spent thousands of my own hard earned dollars trying to get my name out there and my personal training business off the ground. All wasted money and no clients to show for it.

Why were these marketing tactics working for the big gym chains and companies, yet I could get no results?

My bank account was being drained fast and bills were st acking up faster. I was at lengths end.

Then I heard something that spun my thinking 180 degrees…

“70% of people first search online before making a purchase”

I thought about that for a moment…

That means… if I don’t have a personal trainer website for my business, I’m totally invisible to the vast majority of people who actually want to buy exactly what I sell!

I though about my shopping habits and how I search online. Whether it’s looking for a cheaper price or looking for the services of a Doctor, a Plummer, Mechanic or… a personal trainer – that’s someone looking for me!

Yes! A bulb had gone off!…

By not having a personal trainer website I was totally invisible to people who actually wanted to buy my services right NOW.

They were searching online because they had already decided they wanted the services of a personal trainer. It’s as close to a perfect selling environment as anyone could ask for. I can’t imagine not being able to capitalise on that.

I was filled with vigor and set about doing everything I could to capitalize on this new technology and new way of marketing. A personal trainer website sounded like a promising windfall for the smaller PT who couldn’t afford the big branding campaigns like the large gym chains.

I dove in head first…

A Warning About Diving Straight into a Personal Trainer Website…

I have a warning… I have learnt this from experience and it is what makes the difference between success and failure…

You CAN NOT throw up a personal trainer website and expect a flood of clients to pour in. You will not believe how crushed I was when I found this out the hard way.

Online it is a much leveler playing field and you CAN compete with the big boys, something you could not do offline with their big advertising bankroll, but there are a some specific things you need to put in place in order to dominate the competition.

You should start with these:

3 Specific steps to apply to any personal trainer website to gain more clients and online buyers,

3 things to avoid like the plague if you want your personal trainer website to succeed – Including why your website designer will fail you everytime.

How I brought in $6,648.47 in just 24hours with my personal trainer website.

Find it all here >> How to fill your bootcamps & Personal Training diary with clients week in and week out using a specifically designed personal trainer website.
